Postural Restoration Treatment
This dynamic, active treatment is rooted in techniques pioneered by the Postural Restoration Institute. It’s an integrated systems approach, which means viewing the body as an interconnected system where posture, breathing, and movement are interdependent.
Postural Restoration Treatment focuses on repositioning, retraining, and restoring alternation to foster a stronger mind-body connection. Through precise assessments of skeletal structures—such as the pelvis, ribcage, scapular blades, and cranium—we pinpoint unique body patterns. By pinpointing your unique body pattern, which could be the underlying cause of discomfort or imbalance, we tailor a personalized treatment plan aimed at addressing these issues at their source.
You may not realize, but over time your body can use postural adaptations to cope or compensate for an injury or muscle imbalances. For example, sitting for extended periods may lead to tight hip flexors, and repetitive movements done with poor biomechanics can cause muscle asymmetry.
What to Expect:
Similar to physical therapy, Postural Restoration Treatment sessions are designed to be personalized and effective. Treatment typically spans three to nine sessions with light exercise and calming breathwork. Similar to light exercise and stretching, it may be uncomfortable at times. Let's get through the discomfort together. Please wear comfortable clothes for movement and sneakers.
Is Postural Restoration Treatment Right for me?
Yes, it's a great fit for anyone! Whether you’re struggling to bounce back from an injury or day-to-day pain, feeling uncomfortable with your home office set up, or hoping to build a better mind-body connection. This is a dynamic treatment tailored to your individual body and needs. Although, this is not a treatment that’s passive, it requires your active participation and commitment to prescribed exercises.
